چکیده

BiFeO3-BaTiO3 (BFO-BTO)-based lead-free electroceramics have long been synthesized using the microwave sintering approach, but resulting multiferroic performance has not excellent. In this work, we report an attempt to achieve competitive ferroelectric properties in microwave-sintered xBFO-(1–x)BTO (x = 0.6–0.8) ceramics. Adopting a process with short dwell time of 30 min at 970 °C, obtain high-quality ceramics high density, pure perovskite structure, uniform element distribution, and coarse grains. Furthermore, fabricated can reproduce typical characteristics BFO-BTO, including morphotropic phase boundary (MPB), relaxor behavior, weak ferromagnetism, enhanced ferroelectricity near MPB. More remarkably, large intrinsic remnant polarization Pr as ∼28 μC/cm2 is achieved by combing MPB-enhanced advantages synthesis. The maximal accomplished here that same bulk solid solution obtained via other fabrication approaches. Our study illustrates synthesis powerful approach which prepare high-performance BFO-BTO-based

Microwave Sintering of Thermistor Ceramics

Microwave sintering is a new sintering technology developed in the middle to late period of the 1980’s, which is characterized by fast densification for ceramic materials[1]. In recent years, microwave heating has been well employed in the field of sintering and joining of ceramics as a result of its advantages against conventional methods. These ceramic materials include oxides, mixed oxides, ...

On the Mechanism of Microwave Flash Sintering of Ceramics

The results of a study of ultra-rapid (flash) sintering of oxide ceramic materials under microwave heating with high absorbed power per unit volume of material (10-500 W/cm³) are presented. Ceramic samples of various compositions-Al₂O₃; Y₂O₃; MgAl₂O₄; and Yb(LaO)₂O₃-were sintered using a 24 GHz gyrotron system to a density above 0.98-0.99 of the theoretical value in 0.5-5 min without isothermal...

Microwave Sintering of Ceramics for Dentistry: Part 2

Each tooth was then placed upon the reticulated zirconia in the thermal containment box and the technique of Microwave Hybrid Heating (MHH) was applied. The temperature measurements were taken every two minutes. We attempted to sinter the teeth in the microwave furnace with both fast and gradual heating rate (per minute) by manipulating the power rate. The power was increased gradually for few ...

Sintering of Ceramics

Sintering with low frequency rf power (-50 M H z ) is a new technique with unique capabilities that has been used to sinter a variety of ceramic materials, including zirconia-toughened alumina, alumina, silicon carbide, and boron carbide. Processing with low frequencies offers many advantages compared to processing with conventional microwave frequencies (915 MHz and 2.45 GHz). Because of the l...
